Having your wheels correctly aligned can help in a few different ways:

• Better fuel efficiency - when incorrectly aligned, your wheels are working against each other, trying to propel you in different directions. This obviously increases the amount of power you need from your engine.
• Increases the life span of your tyre - your tyres are designed to run at such an angle that they wear at an even rate across the width of the tread. If your wheels become mis-aligned, the angle your tyres run at is knocked askew, leading to one part of the tread to not wear at the same rate as the others.
• Makes your drive safer and more comfortable - having the full area of your tyre tread rolling in contact with the road means that they will have a better grip on the road, making for a smoother ride
